Local superficial hyperthermia – RF antenna system
This type of hyperthermia is used in combination with radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or both, to treat cancerous tumors on the skin surface and up to 2.5 cm deep in the body.
Directional radio waves allow heat to be delivered to a precisely outlined area of the body.
The basic indications for surface HT are:
- Primary and recurrent breast cancer
- Head and neck tumors
- Skin cancer
- Malignant melanoma
- Prostate cancer
- Tumors of the smaller pelvis (cervix, rectum, anus, bladder, etc.)
- Esophageal cancer
- Sarcomas and lymphomas
and, in general, most of solid tumors slightly deep below the surface of the skin.
