Deep tissue hyperthermia – RF antenna system

Phased array radio wave technology is currently the most effective method of locally heating tissues deep inside the body. This method is non-invasive and consists in placing the treated area inside the applicator, most often in the form of a ring, equipped with a set of dipole antennas and a water bolus. The water bolus plays a double role: it stabilizes the direction of radio waves (it is filled with demineralized water, which is a neutral medium for radio waves) and helps to regulate the temperature on the patient’s skin surface.
The most technologically advanced devices are adapted to integrate with MRI for completely non-invasive, imaging temperature measurement in real time and in 3D space.

The indications for deep hyperthermia include the majority of deep-body malignant neoplastic lesions, with particular emphasis on the following diseases:

  • tumors of the reproductive organs
  • tumors of the pelvic area
  • pancreatic cancer
  • liver cancer
  • germinal tumors in children and adolescents
  • sarcomas
